Practice Placement Option for Post RN Diploma Students:
Post diploma students complete three required practice courses: NURS 351, NURS 431, and NURS 495.
The School of Nursing has three options for practice course placement arrangements for post diploma students:
After you have developed a course plan with the student advisor, contact the practica coordinator to discuss your trajectory of practice experiences in the degree program. Practice arrangements for NURS 351, NURS 431, and NURS 495 must be made six months in advance of the start of the course. Nursing Practice Requirements
Students are responsible for knowing the nursing practice requirements and expectations in advance of their practice experiences. Please refer to nursing practice requirements in the UVic Calendar, both the Faculty of Human and Social Development (HSD) policy on practice and the School of Nursing policy information for details on the following:
- Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
- Criminal Record Reviews
- Faculty of Human and Social Development Regulations Concerning Practice
- Health Insurance Coverage
- Immunizations and Current Basic Life Support Certificate
- Malpractice Insurance (USA Post Diploma BSN applicants only)
- Oath of Confidentiality
- RN Registration (Post Diploma Students Only)
